general knowledge The political landscape sees a new split in the CJP vs CJP-D dynamic. Founder Manish Brahmbhatt announced the launch of the Cockroach Janta Party Democratic, directly challenging CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke over internal democracy, transparency, and decision-making authority. A split has broken out inside India's youth protest movement as Manish Brahmbhatt launched a new faction of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The faction is named Cockroach Janta Party Democratic (CJP-D). This makes for an outright battle between CJP and CJP-D. Speaking to ANI news agency Brahmbhatt on Thursday pointed out that the original movement had been derailed by personal interests of politics. The CJP movement was founded by activist Abhijeet Dipke in May 2026 when the Supreme Court observations led to mass student protests against leakage of exams. Manish Brahmbhatt who founded CJP-D explained why he decided to separate himself from the original organization (CJP) during the launch of the Cockroach Janata Party, held on 3rd September 2026. According to him the leaders of CJP stopped paying attention to ordinary volunteers due to the huge success of student protest and rally at Jantar Mantar. " The movement belonged to the nation. People poured their blood and sweat into it, but it was sold out and politicised ," Brahmbhatt told reporters. He alleged that Abhijit Dipke picked a 12 member central committee from home without asking the protesters who built the movement. He warned the leadership: " Form your own team, but don't make it Kejriwal's team ." #WATCH | Delhi: Founder CJP- Democratic, Manish Brahmbhatt says, "Today, we are launching the 'Cockroach Janata Party Democratic'... Why did we have to do this? The movement belonged to the nation; it succeeded because people poured their blood and sweat into it. However, after… pic.twitter.com/qt0OnWLrzM Brahmbhatt added that at one point during a meeting of volunteers in Delhi, all mobile phones were collected from people attending the meeting in order to prevent recording of activities taking place. He noted that such covert operations destroyed confidence within the movement. Ultimately, this necessitated the formation of Cockroach Janta Party Democratic. How to Join CJP-D and How the Faction Plans to Operate CJP-D launched three main sign-up methods on Thursday to build a nationwide base: Official social media handles Official social media handles A dedicated WhatsApp contact line A dedicated WhatsApp contact line A missed call registration number A missed call registration number Brahmbhatt promised that unlike CJP his new party will pick five leaders from every state through an open voting process instead of private handpicking. It is not unusual for political movements founded by youth to experience conflict of interest once they have won their early battles. In cases where online movements have rapidly translated themselves into offline movements with millions of followers, there is a tendency for conflicts regarding leadership and politics to arise. For CJP-D, the most difficult challenge will be ensuring that its missed-call mechanism and volunteer-based voting processes bear out internal democracy.
