What Are the Bloomberg Businessweek Best B-Schools Rankings?
Bloomberg Businessweek has released its suite of 2026-2027 Best Business School Rankings , evaluating Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs across the globe through its unique user-driven methodology.
The rankings provide prospective students and employers with crucial insights into program quality across four key regions: the United States , Canada , Europe & Middle East , and Asia-Pacific .
Bloomberg Businessweek’s Best B-Schools rankings represent one of the most comprehensive assessments of top MBA programs worldwide. It is unlike traditional rankings that rely primarily on institutional data. This methodology centers on the experiences and evaluations of key stakeholders: graduating students, recent alumni, and companies that recruit MBAs.
Methodology: How Bloomberg Ranks MBA Programs
Bloomberg Businessweek builds its MBA ranking around the idea that these different stakeholder groups; soon-to-be graduates, recent alumni, and the companies hiring them, don’t all value the same things when judging a business school, even though their priorities sometimes align.
To capture this, the Bloomberg Businessweek Ranking Methodology follows a two-part process: first it surveys these groups to figure out how much weight each evaluation category should carry, then it runs broader surveys to actually score each school within those categories.
Four categories make up the core ranking:
Compensation : starting salaries and how successfully graduates land jobs
Learning : the quality of the academic experience itself
Networking : the strength of alumni ties and the career support they provide
Entrepreneurship : how well the program builds skills for launching and running ventures
U.S. schools are also measured on a fifth category:
Inclusion : how diverse and welcoming the campus environment is (U.S. programs only)
The three respondent groups don’t carry equal influence: alumni feedback accounts for 40% of the weighting, recruiters for 35%, and current students for 25%.
Bloomberg European and Middle Eastern Business Schools Ranking
In 2026, IMD resumed its leading spot at #1, topping the ranking for both Learning and Networking and #3 in Entrepreneurship and #5 for Compensation. Spanish schools IESE and IE almost switched places, while IE continued to rise after entering the top 10 in 2025. This year, Mannheim Business School tied for 8th place with Said Business School at the University of Oxford after tying with St.Gallen last year in the newly formed Europe & Middle East ranking.
